Rosa D’Imperio has emerged as an exciting and versatile soprano in the spinto and dramatic repertoire possessing a “beautifully dark and sensual voice”, “of incisive volume and expressive colors”, combining an innate musicality and intense theatrical gifts with masterful interpretations. She has received a myriad of glowing reviews by the international press such as ”singing with agile and gleaming tone” in Opera News for her Leonora, “a real dramatic soprano that savored with aplomb every moment of this difficult score and can also float a sweet Verdi cantilena” in Mannheimer Morgen for Abigaille in Nabucco, “a big, red-blooded, Italianate voice, with soaring high notes, and a beautifully tender Vissi d'arte" in the St. Petersburg Times for her Tosca, and, as having “rich purity of tone, fluid range and impressive dramatic communication" in New York Newsday for Aida. ”. Upcoming performances for 2014 and 2015 already include her debut as Senta in Der Fliegende Holländer with the United Nations Orchestra, Amelia in Un Ballo in Maschera for Miami Lyric Opera and her return to France Turandot at the Opera de Massy. 

The 2012-13 season marked Ms. D’Imperio’s debut with the Metropolitan Opera Guild in the “Masterly Singing” concert series, Great Verdi Duets concert. She made her debut with the Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogotá in De Falla’s Siete Canciones Populares Españolas and returned to Bogotá for her debut as Isolde in Wagner’s Tristan and Isolde. In addition, she reprised Lady Macbeth in Houston with Opera in the Heights, Tosca with Opera Palmetto, Abigaille in France with Ópera de Massy, and appeared as the soprano soloist in the Verdi Requiem with the Phoenicia International Festival of the Voice. 
During the 2011-12 season, she sang the title role of Aida for Maestro Anton Coppola’s farewell performances as Music Director of Opera Tampa. She also sang Abigaille in Nabucco with Taconic Opera and made her debut as Turandot with Opera New Hampshire, Vail Opera at the Vilar Performing Arts Center, Palm Desert Opera, the Gold & Treasure Coast Operas, Panama City Music Association and, Jacksonville Opera while on tour with Teatro Lirico D’Europa. During these performances, she received accolades such as “a voice equally beautiful and powerful, imperious like her name, yet vulnerable and feminine.” 

Miss D’Imperio made her debut as Lady Macbeth in Verdi’s Macbeth during the 2010-11 season with Fresno Grand Opera and Opera Santa Barbara. She also debuted as Minnie in La Fanciulla del West with Opera Nantucket, Elisabetta in Don Carlo and, Norma, in semi-staged concert performances with Riverfront Opera. 

Other career highlights in Europe and in the U.S. include Abigaille in Hamburg, Basel, Mannheim, and Paris for Companions Arena Opera, Odabella in Attila for New York Grand Opera, Desdemona in Otello for Palm Beach Opera, Leonora in Oberto for Sarasota Opera, Leonora in Forza and Trovatore for the Bel Canto Foundation in NYC, Marguerite for Cleveland Opera, Tosca for Opera Tampa, New Rochelle Opera, New York Grand Opera and Treasure Coast Opera, Die Ägyptische Helena for Teatro Lirico di Cagliari and Adriana Lecouvreur highlights in Prague. 

In her native Puerto Rico, she has sung the title role of Aida and Giulietta in Tales of Hoffmann for Teatro de la Opera and, Tosca, Mimi in La Boheme, Giorgetta in Il Tabarro, Manon Lescaut highlights and Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana for Opera de Puerto Rico. She also covered Maddalena in Andrea Chenier for Culturarte de Puerto Rico while sharing the stage with Ben Heppner as Countess and Bersi. She has appeared as well as Dolores in the Zarzuela La Dolorosa for La Fundación Puertorriqueña de Zarzuela. 

Ms. D’Imperio’s concert career has taken her around the world singing with notable orchestras among them the Hamburger Symphoniker, Philharmonie Baden-Baden, Orchestre Nationale Ile de France, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Nationaltheater-Orchester Mannheim, Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogotá, Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, Krakow Symphony Orchestra, and, in halls such as Theatre An der Wien, Dvorak Hall and Carnegie Hall singing masterpieces such as the Verdi Requiem, Beethoven's 9th, Rossini’s Stabat Mater and Bach’s Magnificat. She has also sung in the US premiere of the Zarzuela Curro el de Lora at Symphony Space, a Gala for the Italian Academy Foundation, and is a favorite at the Zarzuela Galas with Amigos de la Zarzuela at Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall for 3 consecutive years. She was a finalist of the George London Foundation, the Verismo Opera competition and, is a winner of the Joyce Dutka Arts Foundation Vocal Competition.
